The depth holds up too — the top of the list sits at 40 percent.

Three points matter more than the headline number, and each one decides whether you actually come out ahead:

• The booking window is short. November 12 through December 9, 2025. No extensions. The best dates at the popular properties go first, so I move the moment the window opens rather than waiting for "Black Friday itself."

• There is no promo code. Book on the site or through an advisor and the rate appears on its own. No typing, no wondering whether it "took."

• Travel dates and cancellation terms vary by property — some rates only run into spring 2026, others stretch to year-end, and most of the Mexico and Latin America houses are non-refundable. That last line is the one to read before you pay.

The discount is real. What separates a good booking from a regretful one is knowing what you can cancel, which nights you can actually stay, and which VIP perks survive the promo rate.

Colorado ski country

Element 52 plays the most interesting game of the ski set. It is not one number but a ladder — the longer you stay, the more you save, and you only reach 30 percent at a full seven nights. Telluride is ski-in, ski-out, so a family planting there for a week gets the best of it, and the dates are flexible apart from the Telluride Film Festival window of September 2–7, 2026. Hotel Jerome sits in Aspen town, walkable to the lift, with 30 percent holding all the way to December 18, 2026 — the most date-freedom of the three. Madeline, also in Telluride, puts residences and suites at 30 percent, so the kids and the luggage all land in one multi-bedroom footprint.

East Coast & international

These East Coast and international houses didn't publish standard rates on the sheet, so the rate column is left open — confirm at booking. Mayflower Inn & Spa's 40 percent is the sleeper value in this group: a Connecticut spa hotel valid through April 30, 2026, a genuinely useful card for anyone escaping New York for a weekend. White Barn Inn in Maine puts suites and cottages at 40 percent, right for the fireplace-and-coast slow lane. Wildflower Farms in the Hudson Valley holds 30 percent to March 31, 2026, a small getaway before spring break. Across the Atlantic, The Woodward on Lake Geneva gives 25 percent through March 31, 2026; Grace Hotel on Santorini offers the summer rate in the off-season (April 15 to October 31, 2026), for travelers who want the caldera cliff room without the crowds. Europe here rewards the shoulder-season timing.

A few distinctive properties

Bishop's Lodge is the curious one — its available dates are "all future," meaning you can book now and place a stay in 2026 or beyond. Long-horizon planners should keep it in mind. The Dunlin is a newer addition to the collection, worth watching if you like to be early. The Lodge at Primland sits in the Virginia mountains with an observatory, for those who want quiet and a clear night sky. These three didn't pin a travel deadline on the sheet, so have an advisor pull live availability when you're ready.

• Couples. Esperanza and Grace Hotel lean romantic and quiet; Auberge du Soleil is the name people reach for, though it is not on this verified list (see the FAQ). Two people, scenery first.

• Families. Stanly Ranch, Chileno Bay, and Madeline put multi-bedroom residences and suites at the center, so the kids have room to run and the adults have room to collapse.

• Value hunters. Mayflower at 40 percent, Hacienda AltaGracia at 40 percent, and Chileno Bay and Esperanza at 40 percent — four houses sit at the top of the chart, same budget, better room.

• Long stays. Element 52 at 30 percent for seven nights or more, Bishop's Lodge with no end date, Susurros open to November 2026 — spread the discount across each night and it's the cheapest per diem, built for the work-from-anywhere trip.

Why Auberge

A personal note. What I like about Auberge is that it doesn't win on scale. Most houses hold under 100 rooms, so you're not lost in a tour group, the front desk knows your name, the chef might step out for a word. Local design, cooking worth the detour (several carry Michelin recognition or awards), wellness woven into the day rather than stuffed in a separate "spa wing," locations chosen with care — that is why the rate holds.
